Sensible Minnesota’s Outreach Program is an educational effort to evidence how cannabis is safer than alcohol, many prescription drugs, and prohibition, including the war on drugs. Sensible aims to equip volunteers and community leaders with the tools to make effective policy changes in colleges, businesses, residential leases, and the drug treatment industry.
Sensible Minnesota is currently reaching out to members and retirees of the Armed Forces and victims of domestic and sexual assault in order to raise awareness of PTSD and opioid addiction as well as what cannabis has done to combat them in other states.
What We’re Working On
Sensible Minnesota plans a few different activities for 2016 including a VFW fundraiser to promote awareness of the benefits cannabis can have in treating PTSD, lowering suicide rates, and combating opioid addiction. Also planned is a college tour in the fall which currently includes Hamline University and Winona State University as potential opportunities for educating students on how to change their college disciplinary policies, how to engage others in meaningful and educated conversations about cannabis, and the relative safety of cannabis when used responsibly.
